Guidelines for Very Mulberry U-Pick

We look forward to hosting you for U-Pick. Please adhere to the following rules.

Most Important:

  • Bring a cooler and please keep it in the car: Mulberries are very fragile and have a very short shelf life. We provide the packing materials for U-Pick mulberries. It will be helpful to bring a small cooler to keep mulberries cold – you will need to keep it in the car and put your mulberries there when you leave.
  • Mulberry Moments: We would love to have pictures of you and your families enjoying mulberries. Do share them on @very.mulberry on Instagram. Follow us on @verymulberry on Facebook and Instagram.
  • NOT ALLOWED: Big bags, backpacks, containers, coolers, food, pets & dogs are not allowed in the field/farm.

General:

  • U-Pick on Weekends ONLY: We only offer U-Pick during weekends on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 1 pm or until picked out. Our mulberries are available online via direct-to-customer retailers GoodEggs and Weee! We are also at select farmers’ markets throughout the week. Recipes and farmers’ market schedules can be found on our website.
  • What to bring: We encourage you to bring water bottles, hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses. You also need to walk on the farm to pick mulberries, so we highly recommend comfortable and closed-toe shoes. There can be a lot of walking on the farm and the ground can be uneven – so please exercise care while walking. If you have health issues that preclude you from walking long distances, it may be better to skip U-Pick and enjoy pre-picked mulberries instead.
  • NOT ALLOWED: Big bags, backpacks, containers, and coolers are not allowed in the field/farm.
  • Food NOT ALLOWED: No food is allowed while picking mulberries. (water is okay).
  • Pets are NOT ALLOWED: While we love dogs and other pets, they are not allowed on the farm for food safety reasons.
  • Damage to Trees and Fruit: Please do not break any branches, or throw fruit or litter. If you cause any damage to the trees intentionally, you and your family will be escorted out of the farm.
  • Questions – Ask the Very Mulberry Team: If you have any questions, ask our friendly staff in the purple color “Very Mulberry” T-shirts and we will be happy to help.

Safety:

  • No Climbing on trees or ladders: Climbing on trees is prohibited and anyone seen climbing will be escorted out of the farm. Also, you are not allowed to bring and climb ladders.
  • Stay within marked areas: Please do not cross any of the barriers in the picking area and the parking lot.
  • YOU are responsible for your kids and belongings: Families with children are reminded to be with children all the time.

Price/Payment:

  • You buy what you pick in closed clamshells: You must buy what you pick. Check produce for ripeness before picking it. You will not be allowed to leave or throw fruit at the end. You have to close each clamshell before checkout.
  • Payment Methods: We accept cash, apple pay and credit cards.
  • U-Pick mulberries are sold for $7 per box ( 8oz ). Similar to organic raspberries.

We hope you will have an enjoyable time picking these delicious mulberries.
