How to Use a Fruit Picker

Make the most of your U-Pick visit. Here's how to use the mulberry fruit picker, step by step.

  1. Step 1: positioning the empty picker bowl under the mulberry tree's leafy branches

    Prepare Your Picker

    Begin your fruity treasure hunt by positioning the transparent picker bowl under the berry.

  2. Step 2: guiding the empty picker bowl up along a branch toward the mulberries

    Position the Picker

    Gently guide the clear bowl around a ripe mulberry. Aim to cradle the berry cluster inside the bowl opening.

  3. Step 3: tugging a cluster of mulberries into the bowl, already holding a few berries

    Pick the Fruit

    With a slight upward tug or gentle twist, the ripe berry will detach and fall into the bowl. Avoid jerking or yanking. Ripe berries detach easily.

  4. Step 4: emptying the picker bowl into a container of fresh mulberries

    Check the Bowl Regularly

    Once a few berries have collected in the bowl, lower the picker and empty it carefully into your container to prevent squishing.

  5. Step 5: continuing to harvest ripe mulberries with a full bowl

    Repeat and Enjoy!

    Continue harvesting until your containers are full, or your arms get tired!

    Return the Used Picker

    At the end of your U-Pick experience, please deposit your picker in the designated bin just before check-out.
